Healing to create your best life.

What is the Phoenix Project?

The Phoenix Project is a 12-week intensive program designed by Dr. Jack Miller to facilitate emotional and spiritual growth. It’s described as an “orchestrated rite of passage” that guides participants through a process of reliving their lives and reconnecting with “buried wounds.” This process involves entering a state of “liminality” or “sacred time” to open these wounds and release emotional “poison” through creative expression. Participants create three major creative works related to these wounds and ultimately share one publicly in a gallery exhibit, allowing for a deeper psychic transformation.

Dr. Jack Miller’s journey is marked by a profound commitment to personal and societal transformation. Initially ordained as a Roman Catholic priest, his evolving awareness of gender inequality led him to leave the church, seeking a more inclusive spiritual path. This decision was deeply influenced by his experiences ministering to individuals grappling with guilt and condemnation, highlighting the need for a more compassionate approach to spiritual care. Dr. Miller’s work extended beyond traditional ministry, as he became a pioneer in the hospice movement, establishing training centers and hospices.
